Here are some care tips for the Sansevieria laurentii (also called Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law's Tongue):

 

Light:

- Bright. indirect light is ideal for this variety's variegation.

- Can tolerate lower light levels. but may lose some variegation.

- Avoid direct. intense sunlight which can scorch the leaves.

 

Water:

- Allow the soil to fully dry out between waterings. This plant is extremely drought tolerant.

- Water thoroughly. then let it drain completely. No standing water.

- Underwater rather than overwater.

 

Soil:

- Well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix is best.

- Amend with perlite. coarse sand or small pebbles to increase drainage.

 

Temperature:

- Prefers average household temperatures between 65°F-85°F.

- Can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F briefly.

 

Humidity:

- Adapts well to average indoor humidity levels.

- No need for misting or pebble trays.

 

Fertilizer:

- Feed every 6-9 months with a diluted liquid fertilizer in spring/summer.
