Aloe arborescens. commonly known as the Tree Aloe or Candelabra Aloe. is a striking succulent plant native to Southern Africa. Here are some care tips for this eye-catching species:

 

Light:

Aloe arborescens thrives in full. direct sunlight. Provide at least 6-8 hours of bright sunlight per day. In hot climates. some afternoon shade can help prevent sunburn.

 

Soil:

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. You can amend the soil with additional perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage. as these plants are prone to root rot in heavy. water-logged soils.

 

Water:

Water thoroughly. but allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the growing season (spring and summer). water when the soil is mostly dry. In winter. reduce watering to once every 4-6 weeks.

 

Temperature:

Aloe arborescens prefers warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures in winter. down to around 50°F (10°C). but should be protected from frost.

 

Humidity:

This aloe does best in low to moderate humidity levels. around 40-50%.

 

Repotting:

Repot every 2-3 years in the spring. using a slightly larger pot and fresh. well-draining cactus/succulent soil mix. Be gentle with the roots and stem.

 

Fertilizer:

During the growing season. you can feed with a balanced. diluted succulent fertilizer every 4-6 weeks.

 

Pruning:

Prune off any dead or damaged leaves or stem sections as needed. using clean. sharp scissors or pruners.

 

With its thick. woody stem and rosettes of fleshy. green leaves. the Aloe arborescens can grow quite large. up to 10 feet tall in ideal conditions. Provide proper care. and this striking aloe can make an impressive addition to your succulent collection.
